Golf Glove Size Chart

Golf glove sizing comes down to one measurement: the circumference of your glove hand, taken just below the knuckles with the thumb excluded. Match that number to the chart below to find your size. The glove goes on your left hand, so that is the hand you measure.

How to Measure Your Hand

You need a soft tape measure, or a piece of string you can lay flat against a ruler afterward.

1. Measure the circumference. Wrap the tape around your glove hand just below the knuckles, leaving the thumb out. Keep it snug, not tight. Note the measurement in inches. This is the number that sets your size.

2. Measure the length. Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your palm where your hand meets your wrist. This is the fine-tuning number. If your fingers are noticeably short relative to a wide palm, standard sizing will leave loose material at the fingertips.

Measure your left hand, which is the hand that wears the glove and the top hand on the club for a right-handed golfer.

These bands are the common convention across golf glove makers rather than a universal standard, so treat them as a starting point and confirm with the fit test below. Sizing does vary between brands.

If You Are Between Two Sizes

Take the larger size. Perfect Golf Grip gloves run slightly small, so a golfer who measures right on the line between Medium and Medium/Large is usually better off in the Medium/Large.

That is the opposite of the advice you will see on some leather glove charts, which tell you to size down because cabretta leather stretches as it breaks in. Ours is built to stay consistent rather than stretch to your hand, so the starting fit is the fit.

Your Glove Size Also Sets Your Grip Size

This part is specific to the Perfect Golf Grip system, because the glove and the club grip are matched to each other.

  • S, M and ML gloves pair with the Standard grip.
  • L and XL gloves pair with the Midsize grip.

You do not have to work that out yourself. On the Glove and Grip Set, choosing your glove size selects the matching grip for you. If you already have the grip on your club and only need a replacement glove, the alignment glove is sold on its own in all five sizes.

How a Golf Glove Should Fit

A glove that fits is close to invisible once you are over the ball. Check these four things:

  • The material is flat across your palm with no bunching or slack.
  • Your fingertips reach the ends of the fingers without extra material above them.
  • You can close your hand into a fist without the glove pulling or pinching.
  • The closure tab covers most of the back of your hand and still leaves some adjustment range.

A large share of golfers play in a glove that is too big, and the tell is loose material at the fingertips. Any movement between your hand and the glove is movement between your hand and the club.

Which Hand Does the Glove Go On

The glove goes on your top hand, the one that controls the clubface through impact, which is why it is the hand that carries the alignment markings on this system. For a right-handed golfer that is the left hand.

Perfect Golf Grip gloves are made in left hand only, for right-handed golfers. We do not currently offer a right-hand glove for left-handed players. If you play left-handed, the measuring method and the fit test on this page still apply to any glove you buy, and the grip itself works the same way on your club.

Once You Have the Size Right

Fit is the first half. Where your hands actually go on the club is the other half, and it is the part most golfers never get a straight answer on. Read how to hold a golf club correctly next.
